When is Max Payne 3 coming out?

Well that's the question a lot of people have been asking since Max Payne 2 came out five years ago.
Sadly there's not a lot of news.
Rockstar has stated recently that Max Payne 3 would eventually come out and rumour is that the Rockstar team behind The Warriors would bring Max to the next generation. The original team, Remedy, is hard at work on Alan Wake, which looks great by the way.
But I have a question for you Joe and everyone else wanting a Max Payne 3 game. Do you really want one?
Sure, it would be awesome to play as Max again. I loved using bullet time to fly through the air to blast a mafia thug on my left and then spin in mid air to the right to put a bullet in between another thugs eyes.
But the best part for me was the stories. The original Max Payne was brilliant and the second one was just as good. Where can you go with Max's story? In the first game his wife and kids get killed and the second he loses Mona (well, not in the Dead or Alive ending). Who else in Max's life can die so we can connect with his world of grief?
Some games just don't need sequels and I think Max Payne is one of them. We'll just have to wait and see what they come up with.
