Conviction!

Dr Game,
Do you have any idea when Splinter Cell Conviction will come out?
- Ash, via email
We discussed this on Game On! this week and how I was disappointed with the way Double Agent ended. I didn't think another Splinter Cell would come out and that Ubisoft would just focus on newer franchises like Assassin's Creed.
But this morning Kotaku reports that Ubisoft have stated Conviction will be here before the end of the year.
For those of you who have not heard much about Conviction - it will be a 360-exclusive that sees Sam on the run from the NSA after the collapse of the Third Echelon agency. The gameplay will be very different from previous Splinter Cell's in that you'll be wandering around in broad daylight amongst civilian crowds. Ubisoft are also making an effort to simplify the controls. When the game was being showed to press they stated that you would only need to use three buttons - a light attack, a heavy attack and a button to interact with environmental objects.
That was two years ago so perhaps a lot has changed. Hopefully at E3 we'll see a lot more of the game and hear Michael Ironside's familiar voice.
