Do you know when the Dexter game is coming out and what type of game it will be?

Ah Dexter, one of my favourite shows. How good is season 3 getting?
As for the game, there is little to report. The latest we heard is that it will be episodic content and available on the iPhone/ipod Touch and PC. We also know it's being created by the team who brought us Mark Ecko's Getting Up, which I haven't decided is a good thing or not.
Getting Up wasn't terrible. It had a lot of good concepts and a decent story but there were a lot of occasions where it got a little dull. I'm just hoping that they don't use the same engine and build everything from the ground up.
Based on renders it looks like Dexter will be a point and click game. This would most likely suit the iPhone system but I'm not sure what they'll have us doing. I can't see the game allowing us to use the touch screen to cut off body parts or using it to inject our "projects" with a dose anaesthetic to knock them out. Instead I'll thinking we'll be cleaning up after ourselves and making sure nothing traces us back to the infamous antihero.
As for the story, if I had to hazard a guess I'd say that we're tracking a new serial killer and we would be examining crime scenes for clues similar to the CSI games. Then we would have a final confrontation with them in the final level. But who knows.
I'm sorry I can't be much help Sue but hang in there. At least now that you know that Dexter won't be exclusive to the iPhone/iPod touch so you can save your money and wait for the PC release.
