Going home...

Dr Game,
When is Home coming to the PS3?
- Phil, via email
Hahahahahahahahahahaha, I'm sorry Phil that's just kind of like asking if I can predict when Armageddon will happen.
But in all seriousness the last I heard about Home was that the release is imminent. Former Home landlord Phil Harrison said in a recent interview that Sony has realised everything they've wanted to and now it's just a matter of squashing some bugs and getting it out online.
So once that happens are we going to care much? I don't know. As most people know on here I am a big fan of the PS3 but I don't know if Home is going to make a big difference in how I enjoy my PS3. I've never played Second Life and I'm not a huge fan of social simulations. Sure, maybe I'll explore around for a little while but in the end it comes down to the games doesn't it?
I mean I don't play around with my Avatar and I haven't even created a Mii. Instead I'm playing Fallout 3 and Mass Effect. As for the PS3, by the time Home arrives, which I'm guessing will be around the release of Killzone in February, I'll be too keen to get into Killzone and Resident Evil 5 to worry about checking out someone's pad.
But hey who know, maybe there will be something pants-exploding about Home that will make everyone spend most of their time in there wandering around rather than worry about what disc is in the machine. We'll just have to wait and see.
