Dr Game
Should I buy a DS or a PSP?
- Doug
Well Doug it depends on what type of games you're interested in playing.
While some say the PSP doesn't have strong third-party support, the third-party support they do have is strong. the days of ports are over and Sony is taking strides in making the PSP a fantastic multimedia device.
Nintendo has just announced a new DS model to try and compete. The DS has the advantage that it's the highest selling handheld platform on the market. Nintendo know how to market their machine. The DS doesn't have as many strong titles on the DS but it is home to all the favourites like Mario, Mario Kart and Zelda.
However if you didn't grow up on Nintendo then this doesn't mean much. In that case you might be better off with Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Burnout Domination and God of War: Chains of Olympus.
A suggestion though Doug. Wait for the new PSP model 3000 and the DSi. New games will be specifically made for these models so it might be best to save your money and hold off so you don't get stuck with an obsolete machine.
