Is Resistance 2 going to be good enough to warrant getting a PS3?

Having played Resistance 2 recently at an event I can say that it's looking like a great romp. As to whether it's worth buying a PS3 for, well I'd have to wait until I play the full game.
I liked the first Resistance. I thought it was solid. It had a decent story and the gameplay was fun. I wasn't a huge fan of the short chapters because it broke up the gameplay quite a bit but otherwise it was fun and a decent launch title for the PS3.
But it was by no means a must-own game or a reason to buy a PS3. While I love Insomniac, I think they're a great company and extremely talented, I was left a little disappointed when playing the Resistance. I think they've done a great job with what I've seen of Resistance 2 and it will offer a lot of value for money in the form of a massive single player experience, a solid co-op campaign that's completely separate and a huge multiplayer mode that can feature up to 60 players online at once. That is mental.
But I can't say yet if this is a reason why you should buy a PS3. I'm anxiously awaiting LittleBigPlanet and seeing if that is the reason you should buy a PS3 but I don't want to hand out reasons to do that until I've played through it thoroughly. Especially in the case of Resistance 1 as while it was decent, it wasn't mindblowing.
So I suggest if you've already got a PS3 to pick up Resistance 2 but if not, wait until Dr Game gives his second opinion and read some other reviews through metacritic then see if it is worth your while.
