Multi-assassin

Dr Game,
I thought that they were going to try to add in a multiplayer part in the next Creed, is that true?

After a lot of searching, the only references I could find to multiplayer in an Assassin's Creed game was in Wish Lists. It seems like a lot of the gaming journalists are wanting to get online and compete for a kill or use their assassin skills to take out the opposition.
I personally wouldn't like to see multiplayer in Assassin's Creed - I just don't think it would fit in. Much like F.E.A.R. or Bioshock - it's main draw is its single-player experience. The team is putting everything they've got in to the story that you know that the multiplayer would be sub-par at best.
Do you think multiplayer in Assassin's Creed would pull you away from Call of Duty or Gears of War 2 or Left 4 Dead? I know it wouldn't pull me away from these ones.
I wouldn't even hold my breath for co-op because the whole idea of the story is pulling memories from Desmond (the guy that's not Altair). They would have to write in a whole new character and while it's not out of the question it could come across as simply writing it in purely for co-op.
As far as I know - the only gameplay mechanic I know of is that there could be a water level. One of the execs let loose and said that he saw the team working on making Altair swim insinuating that the game will feature Altair but also one of the most hated level designs around - the underwater level. Shudder.
