Obvious predictions
January 21st 2009 00:24
Dr Game,
Every website I see has crazy predictions for the year - they seem to get off on the fact they're crazy. Do you have any predictions for 09?
- Shane, via email
I thought about doing crazy predications for 09 but I thought I'll be different and just state the obvious... but make it entertaining.
You see the world's economy is in a bit of, how do you say, financial shit. So I think these predications could be made by anyone. Enjoy.
The Wii will outsell the other consoles - because for someone reason people want a Wii, not necessarily to play but just to say to other people yeah I've got one of those.
The PS3 will have a price drop this year - because Sony lost 1.1 billion last year. Ouch.
THQ will release another WWE game - not much will change. A new feature will be teased for months before being unveiled as something that doesn't really make the game any better.
Activision will release another Call of Duty and Guitar Hero game - ok we know this already but I can predict these games will happen every year until these games post a loss. Then it will be reinvented - but not really.
EA will bring out a new Tiger Woods, Madden, NBA and FIFA game - as long as these sports are going on there will be games for them.
Home will continue to grow in size - but people will still have to wait to have a game of ten pin bowling.
Duke Nukem Forever will not come out - it will never come out.
Splinter Cell Conviction will not come out - this franchise is dead, there is no buzz for it anymore.
God of War III will kick ass - God of War next gen has got awesome written all over it.
Halo ODST and Halo Wars will be disappointing - an add-on that doesn't involve Master Chief and a RTS? Gimme a break.
The 360 will not bring out a blu-ray add-on - because they think downloadable movies is the future.
Killzone 2 will not sell as much as Sony expects - unless they cut the price before it comes out.
