Party games!

October 30th 2008 00:11

Dr Game,

I'm throwing a party this weekend and I need some games that everyone can play. Any suggestions?

- Dave, via email

I'll assume my invite is in the mail Dave...

Fortunately there's a bunch of games you and your mates can get into as you're drinking the night away.

I'd kick things off with a little Rock Band or Guitar Hero World Tour, depending on what pack you have. These two games probably require the most coordination so it's good to start off with this before the Daiquiris kick in. Both have some great tracks and the only argument you may have is who gets to play the drums.

I'd then move on to Wii Sports. Ten Pin Bowling is a favourite with me and my mates. There's a few different types of minigames you can play. The one we play is when you get more and more pins with each bowl. We even make it interesting with everyone throwing in a few bucks and the winner takes it all. Just make sure your mates wear the wrist straps so your Wiimotes don't go flying into the walls.

If you're after a good drinking game then I have to promote a creation me and a few mates gave birth too titled The Burnout 3000. You'll need Burnout Revenge as Burnout Paradise doesn't have laps. You'll also need to pick a track that has 3 laps. You have two drivers each with a pit crew member. The driver does one lap and then pulls over to the side and has to skull half his or her drink of choice. Then they do a second lap, pull over and skull the rest. The winner is who crosses the finish line first and still conscious.

You should be quite intoxicated by this time and what better way to finish your night then with a bit of SingStar. There's a track for every kind of drunk including the sad and lonely (Something Stupid), the crazy (We're Not Gonna Take It), the party animal (500 Miles) and the one who loves you and everyone else in the room (Sexbomb).

Enjoy your party Dave.
