The need for speed...

Dr Game

I just picked up a 360 and love racing games but I'm not sure what to get. Any suggestions?

- Clyde

You're pretty spoiled for choice Clyde. It depends though on what type of racing game you're after.

At the top of the list is Burnout Paradise. This is one of the best racing games on the 360 thanks to developers Criterion continuously adding new content. It's the fastest game on the 360 and one of the most fun racing games you'll ever play.

If you're after something a little more realistic then GRID is a fantastic racing sim from the guys who brought you V8 Supercars/TOCA. There's plenty of tuning and plenty of rides. The tracks are all actual racing tracks and the damage you can cause is awesome... even though it's not encouraged because it will effect your wheels.

You can't mention racing games without the Need for Speed series. DON'T BUT PROSTREET. Instead wait for Undercover which is due in November. It's based on The Transporter films and offers a good balance between realistic racing action and the fun of dodging oncoming traffic.

There's plenty of budget racing titles too. There's Forza, Project Gotham, Burnout Revenge and Need for Speed Carbon.

Happy racing!

I downloaded an old PC game for free on Abandonia called Re-Volt. You race these RC cars in supermarkets and neighborhoods. Not as fast and flashy as console racing games, but great, great fun...

Hi -- I've sent you an email already but sometimes they don't get through. Would you like a domain for this blog? If so send an email to charles -at- orble.com (change the -at- into a @) and he will be able to set one up for you.

You may also need to add the email address admin -at- orblemail.com to your address book in order to receive Orble admin emails in the future.

Thanks,
Jon.
