Tomb Raided

Dr Game,
I've seen Tomb Raider Underworld on a lot of Best of 2008 lists but the reviews aren't great for it. What do you think?

Sam, Lara is on my blacklist after Tomb Raider: Legend.
I was playing it until recently but now it has been sold on Ebay. Now I loved Tomb Raider Legend and I thought Crystal Dynamics was a great developer to take over the series. But the problem with it is that Lara seemed so focused on doing the opposite of what I wanted her to do.
She was extremely difficult to control and often she would jump in the wrong direction resulting in death after death after death. Finally I just cracked it and decided to put it on Ebay. I made my money back so I was happy. I then started playing Prince of Persia and I am much more happier with the acrobats in that.
As for Underworld, I checked out the demo and I suggest you do the same Sam, and it looked like not a whole lot had changed in the jumping to your death department. The graphics are great, I'm sure the story is great but you probably won't see a lot of it if you're continually dying. If you want a game where you can jump from wall to wall or run along them then pick up Prince of Persia over Tomb Raider Underworld, it's much more fun and less frustrating.

it's such a shame you didn't enjoy the game. I played it through no problem - and LEgend also - and only got stuck on one section. The story - as you stated - was great and followed on from the previous title. It is graphically resplendent. Definitely have your 'patient' check out the demo.
Cool idea for a site btw.
