What to get the missus...

Dr Game,
I want to get my girlfriend into gaming but I'm not sure what to get her for Christmas. Any suggestions?

Dan, most people will try and get you to buy a Wii for your girlfriend but not your pal Dr Game.
Seriously, what is she going to play on there?
If you want to get her something she'll play the first game I would suggest would be SingStar. Either PS2 or PS3 - it doesn't really matter. She will love you for it. Girls love to get together with other girls with some drinks and just sing. There's a huge selection to choose from now and you can't go wrong with any of the SingStar titles.
If you're her only friend then I would suggest maybe Buzz! or Scene It! Let them win a few games to make them think they're smarter than you and you'll be showered in kisses... or insults. It really depends on how much your girlfriend gloats.
If you want something just for her that only she would play I would suggest getting a DS or PSP depending on her tastes. The DS is great for simple games like Brain Training, Mario Kart and Wario Ware. The PSP would better suit the platforming games like Secret Agent Clank, Daxter and even possibly God of War. Plus if you have a PS3 you might even be able to score Crash Bandicoot for her. I don't know what it is but the chicks dig the Bandicoot. I think it's a nostalgia thing.
So hopefully that's a start Dan, everyone has deals on now so get out there and get her into gaming... then refer her to Dr Game's Gaming Advice!
