Dr Game,
When is The Ghostbusters game coming out?
- Anthony, via email
Well Anthony, Atari announced earlier this week that Ghostbusters The Videogame will hit the PS3, PS2, 360, Wii, DS and PC in June 2009. That's right, June 2009.
For those of you who didn't even know there was a Ghostbuster game coming... shame on you.
The game will see the original team reunite so expect the voices and likenesses of Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray. There will also be some other old digitised faces including the characters Janine, Walter Peck and Mayor Jock Mulligan. Fortunately Sigourney Weaver declined... I don't think any console should be soiled with her likeness.
Ghostbusters will see you take control of The Ghostbusters new recruit, Egon and Ray have some new ghostbusting equipment and you'll be the test subject. Along your travels you'll run into familiar enemies like Slimer, Stay Puft and Vigo. There'll be some kind of story involved but the guys are keeping this a secret for now.
The Wii and DS versions will score themselves a different game to the other consoles. The Wii will be the one to get as it will let you use the Wii-mote like the Proton Power pack and the nunchuck as the trap. So once you've trapped your ghost you'll throw out the trap you can shout "we be fast and they be slow"... or something like that.
So keep your eyes peeled in June, I'm hoping for a demo to come out a little earlier but it's looking like it will be worth a look.
