Xbox Originals

Dr Game,
Are any of the Xbox Original titles worth buying?
- Steve, via email
There's definitely a lot of good titles in the Xbox Originals section but you need to weigh up the pros and cons before you commit to downloading one of these games.
The pros are that you're not going to have to worry about discs or old cases. Load times will be a lot faster and it's only a couple of clicks away if you ever want to boot it up while you're in the middle of another game.
The cons are the price. A lot of these games can be found in second-hand bins and on Ebay that are cheaper then what Microsoft is asking for. You've also got the peace of mind that if your 360 or the hard drive dies, something that commonly happens, you won't lose the game and have to download it again.
As for the games available - make sure you're browsing the entire catalogue and not just the titles that are most popular or have just been released. There are games like GTA San Andreas, Ninja Gaiden Black, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Destroy All Humans!, Metal Arms Glitch in the System, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Halo and just announced is Max Payne and Max Payne 2.
Joystiq said today that Max Payne and Max Payne 2 are $US15 on Steam but Microsoft is asking $US15 for each title. So the price is quite hefty so I would suggest shopping around before you start your download.
